Shanghai Pulp Week (SPW) is an annual event that always falls on the Wednesday of the third week of March.2025 SPW has been scheduled from March 17th to 21st by all partners. 2025 SPW Annual Meeting and Dinner will take place on March 19th at Shanghai Marriott Marquis City Centre.

He has received several prestigious awards, including the First and Second Prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and has been recognized as an Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Expert with Significant Contributions in Shandong Province, a National Model Worker in the Light Industry, a Shandong Provincial Youth Science and Technology Award recipient, and recognized as an Outstanding Young Expert and Model Worker in Dongying City, Shandong Province.
Wanyan Shaohua is the Senior Vice President, Commercial and Corporate Development at the RGE Group. With over 20 years’ experience, Shaohua has held various senior positions at the RGE Group in the areas of strategic planning, sales & marketing, and business management. Prior to the current role, he served as the Paper Business Head for APRIL Group, and as the Marketing Head for Asia Symbol. Prior to his industrial experience, he was a business researcher at the National University of Singapore and INSEAD, and has published over a dozen research papers. He holds a Masters of Science (Business Policy) from the National University of Singapore, and frequently speaks at forestry and pulp and paper industrial conferences.

Zhu Min is Vice Chairman of China Centre for International Economic Exchanges, and Envoy of Sino-UK Professional and Financial Service for the Belt and Road Initiative. He services as a member of the "14th Five-Year Plan" Expert Committee, a member of the Foreign Policy Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the State Internet Information Office. He is also a Board Trustee member for World Economic Forum, and for Peterson Institute for International Economics. He previously served as the Chairman of the National Institute of Financial Research at Tsinghua University(2017-2022), a Deputy Managing Director at the IMF (2011-2016) and as a Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China, and as an Executive Vice president of Bank of China. He also worked at the World Bank and taught economics at both Johns Hopkins University and Fudan University.
Zhu Min received his Ph.D and M.A. in economics from Johns Hopkins University, a M.P.A. from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public International Affairs at Princeton University, a BA in Economics from Fudan University.
Tom is the Managing Director of Hawkins Wright. Over the past 25 years he has undertaken regular private client consultancy assignments on a wide range of topics related to the pulp and paper sector. He is the co-author of the Outlook for Market Pulp and Pulp Watch and is the principal author of the Asian multi-client studies. Foremost amongst these, Defining the China Market for Pulp Paper & Board was first published in 2002 and enjoys industry-wide recognition. Tom has also helped to establish two major events in the industry calendar; London Symposium in association with the BWPA, and Shanghai Pulp Week in association with CPICC. Tom travels widely, both in the course of market research and also as a frequent speaker to private meetings and industry conferences.
João Alberto Fernandez de Abreu joined Suzano in April 2024 and took over the role of CEO of Suzano from July 1st 2024.
Mr. Abreu’s career has spanned 30 years. He spent 18 years at Shell, where he held various executive positions in Brazil, England and Argentina; six years at Raízen as Energy Director and Vice President of the Ethanol, Sugar and Energy Business and five years as CEO of Rumo S.A., a railway logistics company.
Mr. Abreu earned his Bachelor’s degree of engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and he holds an MBA degree from Fundação Dom Cabral and has completed executive courses at reputable international business institutions, such as IMD and Wharton. He is currently a member of the Board of ANTF (National Association of Railway Transporters), President of the Board of MoveInfra, and Director of Deinfra at FIESP, in addition to serving as Advisor to the Raízen Foundation and Advisor to the Pact against Hunger.

Mr. Li Zhan serves as the Director of the Pulp Decision-making Committee at China Paper Corporation andVice President, Yueyang Forest & Paper. He has previously held several positions, including Assistant to the General Manager, Deputy General Manager, BOD and General Manager of Yueyang Forest & Paper Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Paper Corporation. Additionally, he served as the Director of the Purchasing Center at China Paper Corporation.
Aleksey Lomko is the Chief Executive Officer of JSC Ilim Group and a member of the Company's Board of Directors. He is a recognized expert in corporate law, management, and mergers and acquisitions of large industrial companies.
Aleksei graduated from the Ural State Law Academy in Russia and holds MBA degrees from Northwestern University in the United States and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
He began his career at JSC Ilim Group in 2005 and actively contributed to various business areas within the Russian-American joint venture. Over 20 years, he advanced from Deputy CEO for Legal Affairs to his current role as Chief Executive Officer and Board member of the company.
Levi Li joined RISI Shanghai Representation office in January, 2008, as the Asian Key Account Manager - Pulp and Paper, managing all commercial activities of RISI’s pulp and paper service within the Asian territory. In March, 2012, Levi Li was appointed General Manager of RISI China, overseeing all RISI services in China, ranging from data and information business, event business, as well as consulting business.
Prior to RISI, Levi Li was CEO of UMPaper (Shanghai Leadway E-commerce Co., Ltd.) – the leading local pulp and paper market information provider, from January, 2007 to June, 2007. Levi Li started his career in China pulp and paper industry starting from January 2004, with his first job at Sinar Mas Group (APP China), and had been taking different roles as business analyst, sales executive, and market intelligence manager.
Levi Li holds a master’s degree in business administration from Fudan University, Shanghai, and is now living in Shanghai with the family.
Mr. Ismo Nousiainen, M.Sc. (Eng.) is the Chief Executive Officer of Metsä Fibre Oy, a part of Metsä Group, and a Member of the Metsä
Group Executive Management Team since January 2018. Mr. Nousiainen has worked for Metsä Fibre since 2001 and held various management positions. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Engineering from Lappeenranta University of Technology in 1993, and has a wide and versatile experience on pulp business and production.
Mr. Cordeiro is a Forest Engineer and Business Administrator (MBA). He has all-embracing knowledge of the forest-based industry value chains. Mr. Cordeiro has more than 30-years’ experience in management consulting for the pulp, paper, packaging and forest-based related industries. He has led and participated in significant strategic and business intelligence studies for global industrial players. Mr. Cordeiro has strong strategic planning skills evidenced by the large strategic assignments with AFRY’s most demanding clients. During his career he has been involved in a wide variety of assignments including corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence and technical audits, economic feasibility studies, technological assessments, plantation-forest related strategies as well as pulp & paper and bio-economy product market assessments. Mr. Cordeiro client’s portfolio includes major international pulp, paper and packaging companies, but also medium-sized industry operators, start-ups, financial investors and governmental institutions. He works principally with AFRY’s key international customers particularly those in the Nordic countries, South and North America, Iberia and South East Asia.
Mr Jarno Seppälä has over 25 years of experience in forestry and bioenergy industries around the world includingChina. He has been actively involved in and managed business plans, strategy formulations, and sector studies.In P&P industry, his team has extensive experience in forest/biomass resource and raw material (including pulpwood and woodchip) procurement assignments in Europe, Russia and South America.His responsibilities also include management of various feasibility studies, investment analysis, and due diligences and M&A assessments. He holds a master’s degree in forest products marketing from the University of Helsinki.

Mr. Zhang Zhongtao holds a Doctorate in Engineering and is a senior engineer at the professor level, as well as a nationally registered consulting engineer. He is a recognized leading talent in scientific and technological innovation by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and participates in the "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Program." He serves on various committees, including the expert advisory committee for the Ministry-level Joint Conference on Circular Economy Development and as Deputy Chair of the Forestry Energy Management Subcommittee of the National Energy Standardization Committee. Additionally, he is the Deputy Editor of "China Wood-Based Panels" and is on the editorial boards of "Wood Science and Technology" and "Forestry Survey Planning and Design."
General Manager Business Unit, Oji Paper International Trading (Shanghai) Co.,Ltd
James has over 30 years’ experience in pulp sales and marketing. His current position is the General Manager of Business Units in Oji Paper International Trading (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. (OPIT), the trading arm of Japanese Oji Group. His main responsibility is to lead his team to sell various grades of pulp produced in Oji Group to customers in Asia and mainly in China, which includes bleached and unbleached, chemical and mechanical, paper grade and specialty (DP), China domestic made and imported pulps etc. with annual volume over one million tons. Before joining in Oji, James took various S&M Management positions in several pulp and paper companies including CNPPC, April and Paccess etc.
James has the technical background. He got both bachelor and master diploma on Paper Chemistry in 1985 and 1988 respectively. He also obtained his Executive MBA from Guanghua Business School in Peking University in 2005.

Dr. Cao Zhenlei, a doctoral supervisor and professor-level senior engineer, has represented the 15th and 16th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China. He graduated from South China University of Technology and earned his PhD from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Throughout his career, Dr. Cao has held important positions, including president and secretary of the party committee at the China Pulp and Paper Research Institute, secretary-general of China Technical Association of Paper Industry, deputy general manager of China Light Industry Corporation, and vice-chairman of the China Papermaking Association.
In 2006, Dr. Cao co-founded the China Paper & Pulp Industry Chamber of Commerce (CPICC) with Li Hongxin, Li Jianhua and other industry leaders, served as its vice president. Currently, he serves as a consultant for CPICC and director of the Tissue Committee, China Paper Association.
Mr.WangMinliang, a senior economist, engineer and specialist in specialty paper, currently holds the position of President and General Manager at Xianhe Co., Ltd.
After graduating from former Zhejiang Paper Industry School in 1985, Mr. Wang was assigned to Anji Laoshikan Paper Mill and successively served as Head of the Technology Section, Workshop Director, and Manager of the Development Company. In 1995, He and his siblings established Yiwu Composite Paper Mill, embarking on their own entrepreneurial journey. In 1997, Mr. Wang and his siblings jointly founded QuzhouXianhe Paper Co., Ltd., where he served as the legal representative.
Paul Yeomans was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1973. He earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Management Sciences from the University of Southampton (UK).
He joined Forestal Arauco in 1999 after graduating from university, where his main responsibility was sales and business development in the North American lumber market, a position he held until 2003.
In 2003, he was appointed Procurement Director at P-UFP. Later, in 2005, he became involved in a retail project development with the Richemont Group.
At the end of 2007, Mr. Yeomans rejoined Forestal Arauco, this time in the Pulp Division, where he has held various sales positions, managing markets worldwide.
Since 2016, Mr. Yeomans has been Pulp Sales Director exclusively for the Chinese market.
Song Yu holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Electronic Science & Technology of China and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has extensive experience in strategy, corporate development and both organic and inorganic growth, having led large and complex M&A processes and strategic partnerships at companies such asCITIC Securities, Cisco, Tianqi Lithium andHuayouCobalt. He is a CFA charterholder.
